Fried Ambrosia apple rings covered in sugar cinnamon crust

Ingredients

 2 Ambrosia Apples
 ½ cup All-Purpose Flour
 1 tbsp Granulated Sugar
 ½ tsp Baking Soda
 ¼ tsp Cinnamon
  tsp Nutmeg
 ½ tsp Salt
 ½ cup Buttermilk
 1 Egg
 1 cup Vegetable Oil
 2 tbsp Sugar
 ¼ tsp Cinnamon

Directions

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.

Slowly mix in buttermilk and an egg into the dry mixture and stir until combined.

Core the Ambrosia apples and slice them into 1/2 inch rings.

Heat a pot of vegetable oil to 350°F. Coat each apple ring in batter and place them into the oil, making sure they aren't touching. Fry for 30 seconds on each side.

Remove the rings from the oil and place them on a wire rack.

To make the cinnamon sugar mixture, combine 2 tbsp sugar and 1/4 tsp cinnamon. After the apple rings cool for 2 minutes, place them in the cinnamon sugar mixture to coat. Enjoy immediately!
