The Early Season Yellow Apple.

An earlier season, yellow apple known for having a slightly spicy flavor, the Ginger Gold is mildly sweet with a gradual tart finish. A great apple choice for snacking, making cider, or a refreshing fruit salad.

The Ginger Gold apple was discovered in Virginia in the 1960s, as a chance seedling growing near a Golden Delicious orchard. Renamed in 1916, it’s parents are thought to be Golden Reinette and Grimes Golden. It is the first yellow apple to ripen in the Fall, with a pale yellow skin that sometimes gains a red cheeky blush.
