SPARTA, MI – Applewood Fresh Growers was acquired in December of 2023, and since then, this new partnership has allowed for continual expansion. One of the first places of expansion is the company’s team, as it recently announced the addition of Heather Childs as Sales Manager.

“I am beyond excited to join the Applewood Fresh team, as they are a known leader in high-quality fruit and grown-managed apple varieties out of Michigan. I’m looking forward to building strong partnerships throughout the seasons,” Childs remarked in a release.

Childs brings more than eight years of experience in transportation sales, specializing in produce shipments.

In her role with Applewood Fresh, Heather will manage existing customer accounts, develop sales strategies, and bring new perspectives to ensure top-quality customer service.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in 2D Design and two minors in Professional Sales and Art History from Central Michigan University.

“With apple volume increasing year after year, we need more hands on deck. Heather’s extensive background of sales and transportation in the produce segment will help enhance our current sales program and support company growth,” commented Brian Coates, Vice President.

Applewood Fresh is currently moving fresh premium-flavored apple varieties like EverCrisp®, Ambrosia, Kanzi®, and KIKU® along with its core varieties, Fuji and Gala.
